Before David T. Kim is a potter, ceramicist, or designer, he is an student of the process. His artistic foundation is the literal translation of "hands-on" - with the advancement of skill through continually making and mastering process. Kim uses clay as an output because it is a malleable material where forms and ideas can easily convert in a three dimensional plane. He uses multiple techniques to create his work. His sculptural work is raw and formative; his functional pieces are in high-end restaurants and set the stage for master chefs.
